Fortunately, there are several ways to increase your storage limits. The most common and simple way is by using Contribution Points to invest in housing in the city whose respective storage you’re trying to increase. Housing that provides storage will increase the maximum amount of storage slots by an associated CP cost. However, the cost-to-space ratio isn’t universal. That means that you’re going to have to do some comparison shopping when you look for the most optimal storage.
I’ve done that for you, and in this guide I’ll show you the best values for storage in BDO. (But if you’re looking for the best values for housing, we have check out our guide to the most efficient lodging locations in Black Desert Online as well.)
Most Efficient Storage Locations in Velia
Velia is scarce when it comes to housing, and house 1-3 is definitely the best value for storage here.
However, you have to consider that this house is also a very good buy for lodging (giving 2 space for 1 CP). All of the houses on block 1 are actually quite efficient for storage, with 1-1 and 1-2 both giving 3 space for 1 CP. Houses 2-1, 3-1, and 5-1 also give 3 space for 1 CP. All of the aforementioned houses have no prerequisites, which is a big plus.
The most efficient cumulative storage is right outside of Velia at Toscani Farm. There, houses 6-1 and 6-2 combine for 3.333 cumulative space per CP.
The best storage housing package in Velia is to grab these three. This will give you a total of 25 space for 7 CP, which is over 3.5 space per CP.
Most Efficient Storage Locations in Heidel
Heidel is most players’ home city, and for good reason considering the amount of valuable storage space you can find here.
I recommend picking up every house on block 4 except 4-5. This is some of the most efficient storage in the game.
This is the first cluster of storage on block 4. Something to note here is that you don’t have to buy 4-1.2. The real prize here is 4-4, and the prerequisite to it is 4-3. 4-3’s prerequisite is 4-1.1, not 4-1.2. However, I recommend you scoop up 4-1.2 along the way because 3 space for 1 CP is still solid value.
Skipping out on 4-5, move into the cluster of houses on 4-2 for you an even better value of 4 space per CP (for a total of 8).
The houses on block 8 also offer high value.
Houses 8-1.2 all the way through 8-1.5 can be skipped if you want to maximize on value alone, as picking up just 8-1.1, 8-2.U, and 8-2.1 will give the utmost value at 3.667 cumulative space per CP. Be advised that 8-1.3 and 8-1.4 are also optimal lodging locations. However, if all you’re after is storage then this entire cluster is a nice package.
Grabbing everything above offers 75 space for 22 CP, at 3.409 CP per space.
Most Efficient Storage Locations in Calpheon
Calpheon is absolutely massive and finding the best CP efficiency here is really difficult, but I’ve done the hard work for you! Nearly everything in Calpheon involves a cluster of buys through prerequisites, except the houses just outside of Calpheon itself.
The housing at Delphe Knights Castle offers both the most efficient single and cumulative value when it comes to storage.
These are the first houses you’re going to want to pick up for storage. They’re extremely easy to find, so you won’t be bothered browsing through the housing nodes in this maze of a city.
As I mentioned before, the rest of the housing is in Calpheon itself and it’s really hectic as far as prerequisites go. If you don’t want to go deep into Calpheon and invest way too much CP, your best option is to get storage in the East Gate.
There’s also a 1.2 in between, but as it isn’t a prerequisite and it brings down your cumulative space/CP (giving 5 space for 2 CP), I’d recommend bypassing it.
Snagging all of the above housing will net you a total of 24 space for 6 CP, a whopping 4 space per CP.
Most Efficient Storage Locations in Altinova
Altinova boasts some of the most impressive space per CP rates in the game without going deep into the city. The real value here resides within blocks 4 and 5.
This entire cluster is valuable thanks to 4-5. Its 5.333 space per CP makes everything before well worth it.
These numbers look familiar, right? This cluster on block 5 offers the same exact value as the five houses on block 4.
Buying both of these clusters will give you 74 space for 22 CP, a value of 3.364 space per CP.
Storage is an important thing in BDO. Remember that although you can never have too much, housing does cost CP and if you find yourself with many slots open in your storage then you should consider pulling out of them and using the CP elsewhere.
