What makes this game interesting is that this will be the first sandbox style Hitman game, meaning players will be able to not only decide how they want to assassinate their targets, but when, where, and who. Opening up the series for some very compelling gameplay. Players will have the option of full on assault, poison, sniping, and trap-making as a means to terminate their targets. And that’s not even the cool part.

Leaderboards are also being added to the game.

Players will have the option to “mark” targets and post their deaths on leaderboards for competition although it is unknown if there will be rewards like trophies or in-game items. While Square hasn’t announced if there will be a full co-op mode in the game, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility. In addition, players will have special targets that can only be killed within a certain time window. If they fail to assassinate their target then the target will be lost forever and the story will change depending on who the target was.

Hitman has been slated for release on December 8th, 2015 for the PlayStation 4. Expect more information on the game as we near release.
